MARITIME SECURITY CONFERENCE – KEIL 2011

     Director General PMSA Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi SI(M) was invited, as a guest speaker, to attended the Maritime Security Conference – 2011 held at Kiel, Germany from 2 to 5 May. The Conference was jointly organized by the Combined Joint Operations from the Sea, Centre of Excellence (CJOS-COE) at Norfolk Virginia; and Centre of Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters (COE CSW) at Kiel, Germany. MSC 2011 was an important annual event for military and civilian professionals who are involved in maritime security and safety affairs around the world. In a collaborative setting this prestigious group discussed solutions to challenging security issues that will contribute to a more effective global network for maritime security. The overall theme of the conference was: 'Delivering Maritime Security and Safety in Global Partnership; Creating a Strategic Framework for Maritime Security Cooperation'. DG PMSA during his presentation on "Coordination & Cooperation among states and Inter Agencies in the Arabian Sea Region", gave Pakistan's view point on a collaborative maritime security regime in the Arabian Sea Region. He also spoke about Pakistan's contribution in the regional maritime security domain.
